Developing Personal Style in Your Lettering

So you've got your lettering basics down, but you want to stretch outside of your current style and add your personal flair to your lettering practice. This is the class for you!

In this unique lettering workshop, we'll look at a variety of different styles of lettering, determine the characteristics of each, and do drills to integrate these styles into our hands. We'll also drill down into "bounce lettering" (also known as a wandering baseline) so you can feel comfortable and confident adding this to your lettering.

Our teaching style is warm, demonstrative, and fun. We keep our class sizes small so that you can receive the personalized attention necessary to learn.

Tuesday August 29th, 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Urban Lettering

If you can't get enough of the free-form urban brush lettering you see all over Instagram, this class is for you! In this three-hour class led by Sarah Ward, you'll dive into two alphabets -- a sans serif capital alphabet, and a loose script alphabet -- that fuse seamlessly for your urban lettering project.

Less structured than calligraphy, this class will more closely resemble your regular handwriting. We'll utilize brush and ink to craft a simple class project, something you can take away and frame or give away. Light refreshments will be provided and all materials are yours to take home.
